Dry bearings

Dry bearings have been used for many years in numerous construction projects and in a huge variety of machines. Dry bearings are characterised by a good price/quality ratio, durability and self-lubricating properties.

THN has a large standard range in stock of around 150,000 dry bearings in various models. This stock includes, but is not limited to, cylindrical slide bearings, collar bearings, thrust washers, thrust washers with collar and slide plates. This stock includes the types DU and DX, with steel, bronze or inox (stainless steel) outer jacket. In addition to our wide standard selection, we can also arrange for dry bearings to be manufactured in different materials, sizes, tolerances and models.

Most of our stock consists of DU dry bearings with a steel outer jacket in shaft diameters from 2 to 500 mm. We also have many DX dry bearings, thrust washers (with and without collar) and slide plates in stock.

The most important properties of DU dry bearings are:

Sliding surface made from a PTFE composite with a steel, bronze or stainless steel outer jacket
Good wear and friction properties across a large range of loads, speeds and temperatures
Maintenance-free operation
Also suitable for lubricated applications
Wide standard range

The most important properties of DX dry bearings are:

Sliding surface made from POM with a steel outer jacket
Bearings with a minimum of lubrication for grease-lubricated applications
Maintenance-free operation
Little wear
Best performance at relatively high loads and low speeds
Wide standard range
